First off, a great big THANK YOU to all of our bean ambassadors who have taken the time and patience to transport these silly things all over the globe.

Ours is not to wonder why...

A special honorary "Ambassador-for-life" award goes to Samantha Amjadali from the Sunday Herald Sun in Melbourne, Australia for her wonderfully detailed article about BATW. While the travels of the beans have been called a lot of things before, this is the first time that I've ever heard it referred to as a "cheeky gag". :) You've got my vote for a Pulitzer prize! Thanks a million, Samantha!!!

Another "Ambassador-for-life" title goes to Diane Tennant of the Virginian-Pilot for her very cool article about the bean's adventures on the East coast. Diane also earns bonus points for spelling my name right! :) Thanks, Diane!

Our eternal gratitude will forever belong to Paige Davis, Edward Walker, Amy Wynn Pastor, and the entire cast and crew of Trading Spaces for being such good sports. We're also very grateful to the nice people at Orange County Choppers for playing along, as well as the wonderfully supportive cast of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

Next, a note of gratitude to our families, who have tolerated having a can of beans in all of our vacation photos.

A very special "thank you" to Mary for allowing her husband-to-be to place the beans next to her wedding cake for all the world to see, and then living with me and these things forever more. Not every wife would be so tolerant - you are truly a saint.

And we would be remiss if we didn't thank the wonderful people at S & W Fine Foods, and their parent company as of March 2001, Del Monte, who have provided us with our beloved can of frijoles negros. Your fine products have given us a great hobby, a smile or two, and something to think about. We just hope you have a sense of humor.

Finally, a special dedication to a young man who has brought us all closer. Quinton, after 17 years we still love ya... Just don't call us -- We'll call you.
