Good evening, Bronx Bombers and Glendale Daisy Pushers, and welcome once again to Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, California, where today the beans swing for the grandstands as they pay their respects to a true baseball legend, Casey Stengel. Casey played for several teams, including the Dodgers, Phillies, Pirates, and the Giants, where he played in three World Series. But he was probably best known for his career as manager of the NY Yankees, where his team won the pennant 10 times in 12 years, including seven world titles. Yes, Casey did pretty well for himself as a Yankee manager - even without having Steinbrenner riding his case.

Sadly, the "Old Perfessor" went to the great big ballpark in the sky in 1975, but will always be remembered for his winning ways and his wicked sense of humor. Since the beans appreciate a baseball superstar almost as much as they appreciate a really good smart-aleck, they salute Casey for being the best of both worlds.
