"Robin Hood? Meet Robin Beans." BATW Ambassador Fred Merkaloy is dying to present you with the following photos.
| Greetings, swashbucklers and merry men, and welcome to Sherwood...oops, I mean Forest Lawn. Today the beans have the honor of paying their respects to yet another film legend, this time the always dashing, sometimes scandalous Errol Flynn. Errol was probably best known on the silver screen for his starring roles as Fletcher Christian in "In the Wake of the Bounty", as Captain Blood in the 1935 movie of the same name, and of course, as Robin Hood himself in the classic Bugs Bunny cartoon "Rabbit Hood". ("Don't you worry, never fear, Robin Hood will soon be here!" One of the beans all-time favorites. Gee - can you tell?) But it was Errol's off-screen hobbies that were the stuff of sordid tales. Drinking, fighting, partying, and girls, girls, girls were Errol's life -- and just think: he did all of this without having ever been a child TV star! In the end, Errol's wild times caught up with him, and he passed away of a heart attack in 1959. Though gone from the party circuit, the beans think that ol' Errol had the last laugh -- his posthumously released autobiography was aptly titled "My Wicked, Wicked Ways". The beans salute Errol for his fine acting and his hedonistic lifestyle. Admittedly, the beans can't drink like Errol did, but they are proud to say that they are a babe magnet in their own right... |
