Beans Around The World

Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park - Big Sur, CA

An entire coastline of gratitude goes to BATW Ambassador Margie Whitnah for taking the beans to Big Sur!

Hello, cliff divers and lovers leapers, and welcome to one of the most stunning views you'll find anywhere! Today the beans are here in Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, which is located about 12 miles south of Pfeiffer Big Sur along California's Highway 1. The park, which was named after Big Sur pioneer Julia Pfeiffer (and no, she's not Michelle's little sister...), stretches from the Big Sur coastline into nearby 3,000-foot ridges. Impressive view, no?

If you look carefully, you'll spot the McWay Falls waterfall in the background, which is actually an 80-foot drop into the Pacific Ocean. The beans thought this was cool, even if their vertigo was starting to get the best of them by this point. If you show up here in December or January, you can watch the gray whales migrating past here on their way South. The beans were hoping to spot a whale or two while visiting, but alas - all they saw was a puffy sea lion with an unfortunate glandular disorder. Better luck next time...
