Bean Cards!Have you ever been out taking a bean photo and have someone come up to you and ask, "What are you doing?" Well, personally it's only happened to me twice - once locally, and once while in New York City (where the question went something like: "So what's with the f***in' beans?"), but I've heard from enough of you out there to know that strangers are genuinely curious about the whole "why is he/she taking a picture of a can of beans here?" phenomena. But there has to be a simple way to explain to the masses what's going on without losing your light and/or having a stranger think you're totally nuts. What if you could just hand them a card that tells them everything they need to know? That way you can pass on the bean story without having to hear whispering about "Look what they're doing!" or "Don't stare, honey." And so it is with that spirit that I recently had 1,000 business-style cards printed up, explaining what the heck we're doing here. Suitable for passing out to your friends, family, neighbors, and the occassional stranger who actually has the nerve to talk to the person photographing a can. They're cute, generic business-size cards with the site name, URL, and e-mail addresses on them. They look something like this:
So - the big question is... who wants some? If you would like some official Beans Around The World cards, all you have to do is ask. They're free, and I'll even suck up the postage costs. What you have to do is drop me an e-mail at beansaroundtheworld@yahoo.com, and send me:
Your Name If you are outside the U.S., be sure to include your country and postal code for Air Mail. I promise that I won't give out your address or e-mail information to anyone - the beans can keep a secret. In return, I'll put a handful of cards in the mail to you. (For international shipments, please give me an extra few days to get to the Post Office.) So drop me a line, and I'll drop you some cards. But hurry - the offer is good while supplies last, because bean cards - like the beans themselves - don't grow on trees, you know. Your Beanmaster, Kevin |
