A canteen of thanks to BATW Ambassadors Bob and Marilyn Prindle and Doug & Marci Thompson for taking the frijoles to the Arizona desert!

Hiya, nature fans and those of you looking for interesting architecture that doesn't come from a blueprint, and welcome to Arizona! Today the beans have found themselves at the intersection of the Chihuahuan and Sonoran deserts and the southern Rocky Mountains and northern Sierra Madre in Mexico (i.e. you should've taken that left turn at Albuquerque after all...), where you'll find the splendor-iffic Chiricahua National Monument! it was here back some 27 million years ago that a massive volcanic explosion tossed up 2,000 feet of ash and pumice. The goo eventually formed into rock (rhyolitic tuff, to be specific), which eroded into all sorts of cool rock formations that you can see today. See? No dynamite required - just a little volcanic activity and an eon or two.

Today nature fans are welcome to visit the monument and park, which teems with wildlife and of course more stone-age fun than Fred and Barney could ever imagine.

The beans had a swell time here, and hope that all of you can bring your cans out here to see it, too. Now, does anyone have a whisk broom they can borrow? All that dust is playing havoc with their little canned sinuses.
