Hats off to BATW Ambassadors Scott Rains and Jeff Rains for taking the beans out for a spiritual adventure in Rio!
| Good afternoon, faithful followers, and welcome to Corcovado Mountain, high above Rio De Janeiro, where you'll find one of the world's most famous statues. No, it's not Michael Jordan - it's "Cristo Redentor" -- Christ the Redeemer. Located atop the Corcovado Mountain at a height of 2330 feet, the statue the Christ the Redeemer is certainly one of the world's best-known and most-visited monuments.
The statue was first built in 1931, and went through major renovations in 2000, after nearly 70 years of wind and weather damage. He stands an amazing 100 feet (38 meters) tall, and his arms are outstretched to welcome everyone into the fold, or possibly to brag about a fish he once caught that was this - big. The view from the top of the mountain gives you a 360 degree view of Rio, including Copacabana and Ipanema. And as you can tell, it's a popular place for having your picture taken. Scott wrote: "The crowds up there posing for photos were horrible!!" I guess everyone feels a need for a little spiritual time nowadays, huh? Here, the beans play a Brazilian version of "Where's Waldo?" See if you can spot our favorite frijoles in this crowd. |

If you need a hint at finding the beans, just look for the top of Jeff's hat -- the beans are heads and shoulders above the rest! And never let it be said that you have to attend a hockey game to see a genuine hat trick... |
