Dino-sized thanks to BATW Ambassador BJ Mezek for taking the beans out to walk with the dinosaurs!

Welcome (literally) to Jurassic Park... Yes, today the beans drop in on the Dinosaur National Monument, located in the appropriately named Dinosaur, Colorado, near the Colorado/Utah state line.

More than half of all the different kinds of dinosaurs that ever lived in North America during the late Jurassic period (that's 140 million years ago to you and me...) are found in the Dinosaur National Monument Quarry, where you too can come get a close-up look at what remains of these giant creatures without the risk of being stepped on or eaten. (Well, at least you don't have to worry about becoming someone's lunch...that's a blessing and a curse that the beans have to live with everyday.)

If you have a bone to pick with the giant prehistoric beasts, this is the place to it. Here at the Quarry Museum, 1,500 actual dino-legs, ribs, and other body parts can be found on display. You'll also find a paleontology laboratory, exhibits, and a bookstore.

The beans had a great time inside, and were more than a little glad to know that they really weren't hatching any baby velociraptors or T-Rexes in there...

And since it would be both a sin and a crime to come all the way out here without actually seeing any dinosaurs, the beans are glad to introduce you to "Cecil", or whatever his real name may be. (He looks like a "Cecil", doesn't he?) While our new friend isn't saying, from the saddle on his neck we'd have to guess that he's looking for a Jurassic Rodeo.

Now, in all honesty, we may not have a clue if real dinosaurs would've bucked like a wild bronco, but the beans are still glad to tell you that they were able to hold on while riding this one for the entire 7 seconds.
