Gallons of ice-cold, crisp, clean, $3 a bottle thanks to BATW Ambassador David Clark for taking the beans out for some H2O!
| Bonjour, mes beaucoup d'amis, and welcome to Evian, France! Yes, today the beans visit the little town in the French Alps made famous by a certain brand of bottled water. According to the Evian USA Web site, "Evian Natural Spring Water emerges from the Cachat Spring located in the town of Evian-les-Bains. Situated on the southern shore of Lake Geneva in the Haute Savoie region of the French Alps, the town exudes a delightfully civilized charm." Sounds awfully romantic for a glass of H20, doesn't it? Well, according to BATW Ambassador David, "Other than the picturesque Lake Geneva / Lac Leman waterfront, there was not a great deal of interest in this town." So you decide - upbeat marketing, or the eyewitness account of a true bean Ambassador. Choose, but choose wisely. Something you're probably heard before, but still cracks the beans up -- "Evian" spelled backwards is "Naive". Hmmmm... While the frijoles would normally find something ironic to say about this coincidence, they figured out that "Beans" spelled backwards is "Sneab", so they're really not in a position to point fingers... Anyway, the beans did have a good time in Evian, and hope that all of you can one day stop by and have a cold refreshing beverage while you're here. But do us all a favor - don't try to order a Perrier. That would be a faux pas of epic proportions. |
