Hello once again, and welcome today to the beach resort community of Porto da Galinha, in the Brazilian state of Pernambuco! The name "Porto da Galinha" means Port of the Hen/Chicken, or simply "Chicken's Port", so it only seems fitting that the beans cross the road to hang out (and on) with one of the featured creatures, or at least a version carved from a palm tree stump.

Port da Galinha's beaches have been described as one of the most beautiful beaches of Brazil. Crystal clear water, natural pools, and colorful fish are out there, so join the beans and grab your snorkel, 'cause its swimming time!

Unfortunately, Foghorn here wasn't able to join us in our dip in the ocean, so the beans did cast a shadow with them while they could, and promised to join them for some "feijoada de galinha" (chicken and beans) later on.

Next up, the beans stop to visit a beautifully carved accordionist (Sorry - it's not Weird Al). Here, the beans meet a "Cangaceiro", men of Pernambuco's "Sertao" or "Cangaco", as the badlands are called. This one is wearing a traditional hat called a "lampião," which was also the nickname of Captain Virgulino, who has been called the greatest Brazilian folk hero.

The beans had a great time here, kicking back a couple of those "natural fruit juices" and listening to the music. And they were twice as pleased when the accordionist actually played their request of "My Sharona".
