Mmmm - Garlic! Welcome to Gilroy, the garlic capital of the world! You can actually smell the garlic for miles around before you reach the city limits. If you like garlic as much as I do (or, as much as Emeril Lagasse does...), this is the place to be in July! Every summer Gilroy hosts the garlic festival, which raises money for non-profit charities, complete with food (garlic ice cream, anyone???), fun, and everything garlic.
