Beans Around The World

Hong Kong, China

Special thanks to BATW Ambassador Steve Brown for taking the beans to Hong Kong!

Hiya, weary world travelers, and welcome to Hong Kong! Technically, the beans never made it out of the airport, but how they made it through security and customs is anyone's guess, so we'll give them double bonus points!

The name "Hong Kong" is Cantonese for "fragrant flower" (which hopefully has nothing to do with the smells of the jam-packed alleys here). About 6.8 million people live here -- mostly Chinese, with a blend of people from all over the world making up the rest.

Although their visit was brief, the beans did have fun while in Hong Kong. But they'll be back -- Hong Kong is getting its own version of Disneyland in 2006, so here's to hoping the beans are first in line for the grand opening.
