500 laps of thanks to BATW Ambassador Tom Isaacson for taking the beans racing!
| Hello speed demons and those who just enjoy hearing the sound vrooom over and over again, and welcome to lovely Monterey, California! Today the beans have joined a few thousand of their closest friends at turn number 5 of the 2.238-mile long Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca race track. Auto and motorcycle races have been held here since 1957, and nowadays you can come by, pitch your tent (or supersized RV, if you're like the beans and like to "rough it" in style...) and catch some pretty cool racing action. Today the beans are here to watch the American LeMans Series sportscar races, where they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the company of the fine people all around them. They really wish they'd remembered to have packed their binoculars, though. Not only couldn't they see the cars very well from their vantage point, there were a couple of hot tomatoes down front they were trying to eye. Ah, young produce love in the pits... |

So as you can well imagine, the beans had a fantastic time with their race buddies. But when all was said and done, who actually won this race? And more importantly, does anyone who came out here for a few days of food, festivities, and frijole frolicking really care? Well, we suspect that someone must know who won it. As for BATW Ambassador Tom, he noted, "I think the beans were rooting for the Viper to win, but I don't speak bean (although they make me "speak"), so I am not sure about that." One thing is for sure, though: when you travel with beans, you'll never have to worry about running out of gas. And yes, we can proudly tell you that Johnny Herbert and Pierre Kaffer won the Audi Sports Car Championships event on this fine day. So don't ever say that the beans don't pay attention. Congrats, fellas. Here's your can of beans = the best trophy you could hope for after driving around in circles for four hours. (Sure, it's cheap, but isn't it better than a bottle of milk?)
