Eternal thanks to BATW Ambassador Fred Merkaloy for stopping by to pay final respects to the Lizard King himself!
| This is the end - the end, my friend - the end... Bonjour from Paris, and the final resting place of Doors frontman Jim Morrison. Poor Jim left his mortal body behind in what was described as "death by misadventure" on July 3, 1971, and since that time, millions of people have flocked to the Paris cemetery where he is buried.
Now, there have been problems over the past 30 years, with vandalism, drugs, and heaven-knows-what-else taking place on Jim's grave, and rumor had it that Jim would be kicked out because of it. But never fear - the graveyard staff says that Jim isn't going anywhere. And with added security, they've managed to clean up most of the damage and keep the evil spirits at bay. The epitaph below his name is in Greek, and loosely translates to "True to his own spirit." Sounds like Morrison, doesn't it? The beans are HUGE Doors fans, and had a nice visit with their rock hero in black leather, wishing that they could hear one of his original poems about black beans. Now that would be something.... |
