Hey, it's time to step back into the high-tech sector, and there's no place better to do so than right here in the heart of Silicon Valley. As you can see, BATW Ambassador Jeff Franke proudly holds the beans in front of the corporate offices of Sun Microsystems. Founded in 1982, Sun sells servers, storage, workstations, and information appliances, and a couple of little software programs known as "Unix" and "Java", the program that makes Mr. Gates lose sleep at night.... Today, Sun is a $18.25 billion global leader in network computing, with 43,000 employees and offices in 170 countries.

The beans are fond of the sun, 'cause without it, they'd have never grown. Unfortunately, they'll never see it again, as not much light gets through their can.

Next, the beans dropped by an old friend of ours, Stanford University. You can find the details of their previous trip to visit the Cardinal here on BATW. The beans have always had a soft spot for Pac-10 teams (especially the HUSKIES!!!), and wish the Cardinal a bowl game or two this year.

By the way, if you look really closely at that upper window in the tower, rumor has it that you may see some prince-guy climbing up the wall on Rapunzel's hair...

And in honor of the bean's visit, Stanford was kind enough to give them a 3-fountain salute. Now, if that isn't polite, I don't know what is...
