Isn't this the coolest view??? Hello, and welcome to the Brazilian state of Parana, where you'll find the incredible Iguaçu Falls (Iguassu in English)! Located on the Brazil/Argentina and Paraguay border, the falls consist of 275 separate waterfalls, which pour out an incredible 1.2 million cubic feet of water every second! It's enough to make Niagara Falls look dinky, ain't it?

The beans were really sucked in by the view, although afterwards they were in a search for the nearest restroom.

The 275 falls are over 3 kilometers (2 miles) wide and 80 meters (260 feet) high, which makes them wider than Victoria Falls in Venezuela, and higher than Niagara Falls in Ontario/New York. About 10 km North of Iguassu Falls, you will find Itaipu, the largest hydro-electrical plant in the world, which produces over fourteen MegaWatts of juice every hour.

Now, contrary to popular belief, the beans are not about to bungee jump from this bridge...

I thought we'd toss in one more picture from the falls, just because I like it so much...

There are National parks on both sides of the falls, both with subtropical rain forest benefits from the added humidity from the falls. There are 400 species of birds in the area, including five members of the toucan family, and over 100 species of butterflies.

The beans found this interesting, and were glad that they didn't mention how many varieties of snakes there were...they'd rather not know.

Here, the beans pose with Ambassador Scott at the waterfalls and peace pole, where the beans are just overwhelmed by the view. As for Scott, well he has a good bean on his shoulders. :) The peace pole proudly tells us in several different languages "May Peace Prevail on Earth". Amen, brother.

Scott had first visited Brazil when in high school, and years later when he met his soon-to-be wife Patricia, he promised to take her to Brazil one day -- well, 20 years later, they made it.

The beans send out sincere congratulations and the best wishes around to Scott and Patricia on their 20th anniversary, although they'll have to keep this quiet - if she catches wind of this, the lovely and talented Mrs. B. might want to go there for her 20th, too...I'd better start saving now.

And so, it is time for the beans to move on to the next portion of their trip -- well, almost. Scott wrote: "This shot is in the town of Foz do Iguaçu, at the airport. We actually missed that flight because I didn't realize it was our plane!!!"

So... if you happen to be walking through Southern Brazil, and come across a can of beans hitchhiking, you'll know why. Just be a good sport about it and give them a lift, will ya?
