Good morning, travelers by train, and welcome to the French town of Strasbourg! Located on the French/German border, Strasbourg refers to itself as "the intellectual, cultural and economic capital of Alsace; a town to which everyone likes to return because it has always something new and important to say." Hey, who can argue with that?

The beans wanted to know what exactly the town had to say the day they visited, but mostly it was "Sortez de la rue, vous bidon fou d'haricots!" ("Get out of the street, you crazy can of beans!"), which actually was quite good advice, don't you think?

Anyway, here the beans stop to check out Strasbourg's railway station, where hungry gourmands come in every day to sample some of the area's delectable treats. Foie gras is big around here, as are French chocolates, cheeses, and of course, Alsace French wines. Sadly, you won't find too many French gourmets fighting over a big bowl of black beans, but never fear - our globe trotting veggies don't take "no" for an answer lightly, especially from people who think that frog livers and the assorted organs from farm animals are good eats. So until they can convince them otherwise, the beans will be waiting - taste sample spoons at the ready - hoping that perhaps one day someone will give them three stars. Until then, we'll see you at the local hamburger stand...
