Hello friends, and welcome to the town of Surrey, British Columbia! Located just East of Vancouver B.C., Surrey is one of those places with a "small town" feeling to it, but with 365,000 residents, it's one of the fastest growing cities in Canada, so it can hardly be described as tiny. Surrey calls itself the "City of Parks", which is nice to know, since the beans like to "park it" just about anywhere they can. They've got 5,400 acres of parks and green spaces and 15 golf courses, so I guess they weren't kidding about that.

Since the U.S. motion picture production dollar goes further across the border, a lot of Hollywood films have been filmed in and around the Surrey area. "Agent Cody Banks", "Happy Gilmore", "Lake Placid", and "So I Married an Axe Murderer" have had some of their scenes shot right here in town.

And since they're such movie buffs, while in Surrey the beans dropped by the Campbell River store, where part of the 2000 Gwyneth Paltrow/Huey Lewis karaoke-themed box office dud "Duets" was filmed. If you've seen the movie (both of you), you'd remember that this is where Paul Giammati gets into a shootout with a store clerk, and Andre Braugher tries to stop him. (Guns don't kill people - convenience store hot dogs kill people.)

So the beans had a good time in Surrey, and promise that they'll be back soon to show you something else cool in this town. But in the meantime, they're off to sing karaoke like Huey. You should hear it - the beans do a mean version of "Some Guys Have All The Luck."
