The beans are plowed over with gratitude to BATW Ambassador Bob Goodrich for taking them to Turlock!
| Top of the morning, Tonka fans and Hard Hat Harrys everywhere, and welcome to Turlock, California! Today the beans aren't visiting an ordinary construction site - no, this isn't what it seems. What you're actually looking at are the corporate offices of United Equipment Company. No foolin'! The tractor is actually a 6 room, 2 story, 2,400 square foot office building, disguised as a Caterpillar model D6. The beans were completely snookered by this faux-dozer, especially by the load o' stuff it seems to be pushing in the front. Hey, as long as those aren't fake rocks, too, I suppose it's okay, right? |

Take a close look at this bulldozer-shaped building - see? those are windows in there. It's said that the company's president has his office in the engine compartment, which makes you wonder where their smart-aleck writers have to sit. (The beans suspect it's somewhere in the exhaust pipe.) The beans were hoping to have a tour of the building's insides, just so they could see where they might fit into the design, but they were afraid that the answer might involve the word 'kitchen', so it was best that they remain outside. |
| So there you go - an office building with an obvious sense of fun. For that alone, the nice people at United Equipment receive a bonus round of applause from the frijoles. The beans are still waiting for someone to design and build an office building in their shape. I mean, besides a few hundred frijoles, who wouldn't want to come to work each day to a bean can shaped building? Quick - someone call Mike Brady; we need an architect STAT! Anyway, the beans are actually perfectly thrilled with their "studio sized" 15 ounce can, though - it's a whole lot more portable, and quite frankly, they save a fortune in air conditioning costs. |
